Our school communities are home to many staff, students, and families who identify under the LGBTQ+ umbrella (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and more). Too often, however, LGBTQ+ individuals face barriers in the educational setting that prevent them from comfortably being themselves. Join Connected Learning, Washington University’s Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and other regional organizations in envisioning school environments that are welcoming of all genders and orientations. During event sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in open conversations necessary for learning and growth. Whether you are a new or experienced ally, you are certain to leave with increased knowledge, skills, and resources for supporting the LGBTQ+ staff, students, and families in your own school community.
